The Six Decisions curriculum engages people by exploring topics and challenges that are familiar to all managers. A topic is introduced and initially explored through a small-group, interactive exercise. Pairs or trios then go to computer stations to further explore the topic and become clear about their assumptions. Reconvening as a large group, people share ideas and insights. Finally, the group converts what they have learned into management tools they can use on the job.
The learning method is grounded in the belief that we learn best by interacting with one another and from experience. The method is progressive in that concepts build on one another; one’s ability to achieve goals within the program depends on applying ideas and skills that are acquired as part of the curriculum. The program is hands-on and interactive with immediate feedback from both the simulator and team members. And it is practical by repeatedly relating concepts to real challenges of the organization, as well as providing tools and techniques for immediate use.
